Provenance: From the wardrobe of Bunny Mellon. This dress was presented for auction by Drouot, Paris, and the Baroness was outbid on the day. She so adored the dress that she contacted the winning bidder and acquired it from them.
Bunny Mellon was a regular Balenciaga client and used to order four sets from each collection so she could have one ready to wear at each of her homes.
