A lavender jadeite pendant

Sans_titre

A lavender jadeite pendant

Of very good translucency, glassy texture and intense lavender colour, carved as a heart with attachment loop to a red silk cord, dimensions 36.7 x 30.8 x 11.1mm. Sold for HK$280,000 plus Premium and tax

Footnote: Lavender is one of the more uncommon colours of jadeite. Translucent lavender is also considered rare as strong even colour is typically characteristic of a delicate structure. This heart-shaped carving of good thickness is unusual because it does not optimise the potential usage of the rough.

Accompanied by a report from the Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory, stating that the pendant is natural jadeite and no poylmer was detected. Report number KJ15480, dated 4th October 2006.
