A massive cloisonné enamel covered urn - Meiji Period
The ovoid body with a continuous scene of cranes amid flowering cherry trees on a sky-blue ground above a patterned lappet band encircling the foot, a 'cloud collar' shoulder band scattered with feather robes and festival umbrellas below a linked band of stylized auspicious emblems encircling the cylindrical neck, the domical lid decorated en suite and surmounted by a globular final with dissolving blossoms (losses), with gilt metal rims (wear).
