This ring is one of the jewels of the princely possession, which today no more specific personality can be assigned. A large diamond sharpening stone and four triangular diamonds grouped around it are embedded in a colorfully enameled, plastic scrollwork. The back and the ring rail carries colored deep cut enamel. Ten diamond tablet stones sit on the ring rail. Elector Christian I received in 1582 a very comparable piece as a wedding ring given by his wife Sophia. According to jewelery inventories, this ring had "a large pointed diamond surrounded by four triangular diamonds and eight other table cut diamonds on a ring band". This ring was given to the Elector in 1591 in the sarcophagus in Freiberg Cathedral.
