The figure is shown seated in dhyanasana with hands in dhyana mudra, and wearing simple robes with incised foliate borders falling in graceful folds. The face is well cast in a meditative expression flanked by the large ears beneath the tight whorls of hair that surround the usnisa, gilt-bronze base.
Provenance: Willard D. Straight Collection, acquired before 1914.
