Silver-gilt. Cylindrical body on a domed foot ring. The flat cover also domed and with a broad rim. Repoussé and twisted tongue decoration to the foot and cover mouldings and the lower third of the body. Above, engraved strapwork decoration on a punched ground and, to the front, an engraved alliance coat of arms with crest. Cast scroll handle, bifurcated thumbpiece and spherical finial.

Silver, parcel-gilt. Broad, flared, moulded foot ring. Smooth tapering body inset all around with thaler coins arranged in two staggered rows, including Brandenburg-Prussian coins as well as coins of Louis XIV of France. The base inset with a medal inscribed AMOR VICIT OMNIA. The cover, with a projecting rim corresponding in form to the foot ring, inset with a medal bearing a symbolic representation and the inscription GOTT GIB FRIEDEN IN DEINEM LAND – ERHALT WEHR UND NEHR STAND.
Hollow, angular scroll handle with cast thumbpiece on the cover.

Lot 1358. A parcel-gilt presentation tankard, Königsberg, circa 1700. Maker's mark: Christianus Friederichs. H ca. 19 cm; 1,215 g. Sold for CHF 11 250 (Est. CHF 6 000 / 10 000) © Koller
Silver, parcel-gilt. Cylindrical form with broad, domed foot section. The body of the tankard with a continuous depiction of the Old Testament scene of the Queen of Sheba before Solomon (1 Kings 10; 2 Chronicles 9). The flat hinged cover also domed, with a broad rim and a central figural relief medallion. The substantial handle with a vertical bead frieze and terminating in a volute-form thumbpiece.
Provenance: - Kunsthandel Friedrich Karl August Huelsmann, Hamburg/Munich, in the 1960s.
- Private collection in Switzerland, for several generations.
